A small group of GBM swimmers participated in this Sprint Gala at Crystal Palace and a number of Top 8 places were achieved. Medals were awarded to:

The newly re-opened Crystal Palace provided a splendid venue for this year’s London Championships. And if national times are to be got, Crystal Palace is the place to get them. The first weekend of the event started with a burst of energy with 3 new national times and a number of medals to boot.
Many congratulations to Emma Mitchell who qualified for the Nationals 100m Freestyle; Neema Nyaulingo who got her National Qualifying Time in 100m Freestyle and Holly Wylie who qualified for the Nationals in 200m Backstroke (click here to view the Nationals Section). The PBs were thick and fast and it was clear that the few training sessions that the swimmers had at Crystal Palace prior to the championships paid off. Well done to all the swimmers who took part many who competed at the regional event for the first time.

The first competitive swimming event at Crystal Palace following its re-opening after nearly two years of refurbishment work; saw a handful of GBM swimmers “testing the waters”. All swam well and gained a number of PB’s and the following positions:
Michael Gregory also qualified for the finals in 100m Butterfly & 100m Freestyle and came 4th in both; 50m Freestyle and came 7th and 200m Freestyle but declined the place.
Ben Duxbury (15/16) qualified for the final in 200m Breaststroke but declined the place.
